Worship in Spirit and Truth

We worship God (the Father) through Christ (the Son) in the power of the Holy Spirit. Simon, using the story of the woman at the well found in John 4: 1-29 explains to us that it is less about our feet (where we are standing), less about our lips (what we are singing), but more about our heart and our relationship with christ.

Worship the King

Curate Hannah uses Exodus 20 to explain how our worship is our service. Worship is only worship when it is directed towards God as Sovereign, not to the false gods of the world around and as Deuteronomy 10 says, we are called to fear God, walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve Him with all our heart and soul and to keep his commandments.

Worship with all of your heart

Using Mark 14:1-9 Sophie talks (and demonstrates) what it means to worship with all of your heart

Intro to new sermon series

God’s Justice

Hannah Baylor reminds us of God’s promise of justice, using the story of David and Bathsheba found in 2 Samuel chapter 11. Speaking from the heart she refers to her doctoral thesis and extended theological study to speak on this difficult passage.

TRIGGER ALERT: sexual abuse, abuse of leadership/power and cultures of victim-shaming are mentioned in this sermon, as are recent allegations against a well known Christian leader.
