Our Vision

Our vision is to serve God's purposes in bringing the lost home. Our pursuit of this vision is characterised by four key principles: welcoming all to experience New Street as home, nurturing growth as disciples of Jesus, committing ourselves to serve the needs of our local communities, anchoring ourselves in worship and prayer.

We areā€¦

We believe we are called to be a community of people seeking to listen for and respond to the call of Jesus for our life as a church to others with the good news of Jesus. We have a heart to discern his voice and vision for our future, be open to trying new things, and to adapt and grow as a church. In particular, we are devoted to love and serve our neighbour, live lives of warm invitation, and genuine welcome.
Through our vision process, we have identified the two key areas of our outward life as a church to focus on and to grow in:

Welcome

We are committed to ensuring that someone coming for the first time to New Street will feel welcomed and settled-in to the service with a clear pathway for how to get more involved.
We want to make it easy for newcomers to make friends and to feel known by others and we try to make sure that every member of the church understands their role in this. Hospitality is a significant way to welcome people and we place a high priority on

Mission

We have dedicated ourselves for our faith to have a noticeable impact on our local community, wider world and relationships. We are committed to specific projects, through prayer and finances, that will enable us to serve others and to witness to the love of God.
Together we want to celebrate and support one another in the opportunities we have to share our faith in big ways and small, and we are growing in confidence in doing so. We know that we will grow as a church through people coming to faith and being baptised.
