Faith and Friendship at New Street

Ellie

“I didn’t grow up in Christian family, so when I went to uni I was nervous about going to church. Two years later New St feels like a big family  – we have student get togethers, and I go to small group, and different members of the church often host student dinners. Being at New St at uni has helped me get to know the community outside of being a student and I’ve found a lot of joy from having friends from all age groups as well as students!”

Lucy

“Trying to integrate into a local church as a student felt very daunting but the relaxed and accepting atmosphere of New Street allowed myself and my friend to feel very at home, particularly after participating in the Alpha Course. We met some amazing people who made us feel very much part of the New Street family and now have a wonderful community to come back to in the future.”

Alex

“New Street church has given me such a warm welcome, and support since moving to Falmouth for university. There is real sense of meaningful community and church family that I never experienced before.”

Matt

“I really feel like I found a home at New Street as a student. They were always incredibly welcoming, especially when I was nervous about going to a new church at the beginning, and by the end of my time at university, I really felt like I had become part of an amazing community. I went through quite a journey with my faith whilst at university, but I always knew that I would be supported at New Street, no matter how big or small my problems were.”
